The many different forms of Muscular Dystrophy

A few of the many different forms of Muscular Dystrophy
When it comes to living with Muscular Dystrophy at times there is a struggle getting the word out about the many different forms one can be diagnosed with. This can range from Duchenne (DMD), Becker's (BMD), Limb-Girdle (LGMD) and Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) just to name a few. Many would be surprised to learn that there are many different types of neuromuscular disorders that fall under the umbrella of Muscular Dystrophy. As many of you already know the goal of the My Becker's Story blog is to raise awareness of Becker's Muscular Dystrophy and the issue's people with disabilities face. But I also wish to help raise awareness of the many different forms of Muscular Dystrophy. Over the years a few of my friends living with other forms of MD have been kind enough to share their stories. This is why I encourage you to read a few of the blog posts found below, each one provided to us to help raise even more awareness about what it means to live with Muscular Dystrophy.

I truly hope a reading just a few of these stories has helped you learn just a little bit more about a many different forms of Muscular Dystrophy.

In the end I truly believe that we are all in this "Together" and like the Muscle Help foundation says; "We are stronger together." So let's join together to raise awareness and offer support to every one affected no matter what form of Muscular Dystrophy they happen to be living with.
