Joey McColm supports Laps for Muscular Dystrophy

The My Becker's Story blog is happy to announce that we now have our second supporter of the Laps for Muscular Dystrophy Campaign. I would like to introduce everyone to Joey McColm the second Canadian race car driver to join us in raising funds and awareness of Muscular Dystrophy. So what is the "Laps for Muscular Dystrophy" Campaign? It's a unique opportunity for Canadian race car drivers or teams to join together with Muscular Dystrophy Canada to help make a difference in the lives of over 50,000 Canadians affected by neuromuscular disorders. Drivers & Teams donate $1 per lap they lead to help support the efforts of Muscular Dystrophy Canada.

Joey McColm will compete in the 2015 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series (NCATS) season, as driver of the No. 25 Ford Fusion for Canada’s Best Racing Team (CBRT). McColm will also compete in a limited schedule in the CBRT Trans Am TA2 No. 83 entry at select events in 2015. Throughout his career, McColm has 63 starts over the course of 8 seasons in NASCAR’s top Canadian division, NCATS. He is coming off his best season to date in 2014 finishing 8th in the overall NCATS Championship points standings.

McColm is also the General Manager for CBRT. Through his dedication to the fans of the sport of auto racing, McColm has become known as one of the most personable and accessible drivers. As a Civil Engineering graduate of Ryerson University, McColm strives to combine his passions of auto racing and environmental sustainability to create change from within the racing industry.
