The "Laps for Muscular Dystrophy" Campaign

Since the beginning of the My Becker's Story blog I have always been interested in creating a fund raising campaign to help support the efforts of Muscular Dystrophy Canada. Many of you who visit the My Becker's Story blog already know that my passion in life revolves around cars. Over the last few years it has been my goal to somehow combine my love for cars and my efforts to raise awareness about Muscular Dystrophy. If you frequent the My Becker's Story blog you already know that I am involved in my local Walk for Muscular Dystrophy but I simply long to do more. One way of being able to combine my love for cars and raising awareness is to start something called the "Laps for Muscular Dystrophy" Campaign.

To make this dream a reality all we would have to do is find a Canadian Sponsor, Race Car Driver or Team who would be willing to donate funds to Muscular Dystrophy Canada for each lap they led and for each and every race the win. Over the last few years thanks to Brad's Auto Review I have met others living with Muscular Dystrophy who also share a love for auto racing. So not only would the "Laps for Muscular Dystrophy" Campaign be beneficial to Muscular Dystrophy Canada but to those living with MD who enjoy racing. Right now all we need is the support of Canadian Race Car Drivers and Teams, maybe even a few from the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series or the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge. Maybe even someone like Ron Fellows who is a part owner of Canadian Tire Motorsports Park.

Sure at this point the "Laps for Muscular Dystrophy Campaign" is just a dream but just imagine if it came true. All it takes is for one Race Team, one driver to help bring the "Laps for Muscular Dystrophy Campaign" to life.

So if you are a Race Car Driver or even a Team owner and if you would like to support the
"Laps for Muscular Dystrophy Campaign" please contact me today at

The "Laps for Muscular Dystrophy Campaign" would benefit Muscular Dystrophy Canada's efforts to enhance the lives of over 50,000 Canadians living with neuromuscular disorders.

Muscular Dystrophy Canada is a not-for-profit organization committed to finding a cure for neuromuscular disorders through well funded research. Muscular Dystrophy Canada’s dedicated volunteers and staff across the country raise funds to enhance the lives of those affected by over 150 different kinds of neuromuscular disorders by continually working to provide ongoing support and resources. Today Muscular Dystrophy Canada has 38 chapters and two affiliates in communities across Canada, with thousands of volunteers helping them raise funds so they can provide services to tens of thousands of Canadians affected by neuromuscular disorders. So please consider supporting the "Laps for Muscular Dystrophy Campaign".
